A Sleeping Hive

Sleeping hives are structures that release spawnlings if they are disturbed. You can jostle them with a gem bomb or by setting a gem's target priority to 'Structure'.

Each spawnling released from a hive is slightly stronger than the previous one, but all spawnlings give the same amount of EXP for being killed.

In GemCraft Chapter 2: Chasing Shadows[]

Sleeping Hives can be found on fields M4, P4, and U4.

Achievements[]

  • Come Out: Lure 15 swarmlings out of a sleeping hive.
  • Come Out, Come Out: Lure 150 swarmlings out of a sleeping hive.
  • In Flames: Kill 400 spawnlings (Steam version)

In GemCraft: Frostborn Wrath[]

A Sleeping Hive in GemCraft: Frostborn Wrath

Sleeping Hives can be found on fields Y1 (one) and B4 (two).

Achievements[]

  • Come Out: Lure 20 swarmlings out of a sleeping hive.
  • Come Out, Come Out: Lure 100 swarmlings out of a sleeping hive.
  • Morning March: Lure 500 swarmlings out of a sleeping hive.
  • Mass Awakening: Lure 2.500 swarmlings out of a sleeping hive.

Trivia[]

  • Enchanting a gem targeting a Sleeping Hive with Beam is dangerous, as the continuous hits makes the hive release spawnlings very rapidly, resulting in lots of monsters with quickly increasing stats.
  • In Chasing Shadows every field with a Sleeping Hive is the fourth field on its hextile.
